What is CNC Turning?
CNC turning is a computer-controlled digital precision machining technology. Its working principle involves rotating the workpiece and cutting it with tools to shape rotationally symmetrical components such as shafts, sleeves, and disk-type parts.
Core Features of CNC Turning:
Stable Precision: Standard machining tolerance ±0.03mm; Precision grade: up to ±0.001mm
Material Versatility: Compatible with stainless steel, aluminum alloys, brass, engineering plastics, etc.
Enhanced Efficiency: Single-piece processing speed is 3-5 times faster than conventional lathes, enabling rapid small-batch delivery
Complex Forming: Capable of machining threads, tapered surfaces, and special-shaped grooves
Consistency Assurance: Automated production eliminates human errors, with batch component dimensional variations <0.02mm
CNC Turning Materials
Our warehouse stocks a comprehensive range of plastic and metallic materials for diverse industries, including common grades such as POM, ABS, aluminum alloys, stainless steel, brass, low-carbon steel, alloy steel, and titanium alloys.

Surface Treatment Solutions for Turned Parts
We provide full-spectrum surface finishing services ranging from industrial-grade (Ra3.2) to precision mirror-grade (Ra0.4). Our precision CNC lathes equipped with vibration-damped tool holder systems ensure stable texture control on materials including aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and brass, supporting concentric, crosshatched, and non-directional surface patterns. All turned components undergo CMM-verified roughness parameter inspections to meet critical application requirements such as hydraulic sealing surfaces and optical device mounts.
Aluminum | Cylindrical surfaces on aluminum turned parts typically achieve significantly smoother finishes compared to milling processes. |
Other Metals | For enhanced matt finishes, we recommend fine sandblasting treatment on metal components. |
RT Manufacture CNC Turning Tolerances
We comply with ISO 2768 standards for CNC turning operations.
Nominal Dimension Ranges | Plastics (ISO 2768-m) | Metals (ISO 2768-f) |
0.5mm* to 3mm | ±0.00394 (±0.1mm) | ±0.00197±0.05mm) |
Over 3mm to 6mm | ±0.00394(±0.1mm) | ±0.00394 (±0.1mm) |
